Evaluating your plans is crucial to understanding what is working and what is not and what you can do to evolve to the next stage of your self-care. Let's be active in our self-care! Here's a structured approach to evaluating self-care plans:
Clear Goals and Objectives
What does self-care success look like to you?
Do you have specific goals? Ensure your self-care plan has clear, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Here's a resource on SMART Goals (Forbes).
Make Self-Assessment a Habit
How are you feeling? Make it a habit to reflect on how you feel physically, emotionally, and mentally. Use a journal or a tracker system to keep track of emotions, activities, or anything else that is a part of your self-care plan. Trackers are a great way to do this. Some planners already have trackers like the Hobonichi Cousin. Here are some of my favorites in different layouts (affiliate links):

Adjust the Plan
Based on feedback from your self-assessment, adjust the plan to suit your needs better--only if needed.
Consider what has worked well and what hasn't. Also, reflect on any difficulties encountered and how you addressed them.
Determine if your self-care activities are sustainable in the long term or if you enjoy more variety.
Recognize any obstacles to maintaining your self-care plan and strategize solutions to overcome them.
Additional Questions to Consider
Are my self-care activities meeting my set goals?
Am I consistently engaged in self-care activities?
Am I satisfied with the outcomes of my self-care plan?
Is there a noticeable positive impact on my overall well-being?
Is my self-care plan practical and manageable in my daily life?
It's time to walk all that talk!
